Environmental Operating Solutions, Inc. (EOSi) is an environmental technology company providing innovative products for the purification of water. The company’s MicroC™ line of products (MicroC 1000™ - 4000™) target contaminant nitrogen at wastewater treatment facilities. EOSi products, used in more than 400+ wastewater treatment plants in North America, are a safer, more effective, and environmentally sustainable solution compared with other carbon sources such as liquid methanol. In addition, the company offers technical services to help customers optimize the use of its denitrification products. EOSi was established in 2003 and is based in Bourne, Massachusetts (Cape Cod).

Operations Manager

General Responsibilities:

The Operations Manager will have responsibility for coordinating the procurement of raw materials, manufacturing/storage and delivery of the company’s MicroC™ products across its network of 10 US production facilities.  Specific responsibilities include:

  • Manage all facets of relationships with raw materials suppliers and manufacturing facilities, including travel to sites across the United States to oversee manufacturing, establish procedures, etc.
  • Research, qualify and develop new raw material suppliers
  • Reconcile demand and supply and coordinate raw materials movements accordingly
  • Track raw materials and finished inventory by product, package type and production facility; maintain inventory levels to satisfy demand with appropriate safety stock
  • Manage railcar fleet movements from pickup locations to production facilities
  • Review billing for various services for compliance with pricing agreements, including raw materials cost, inbound freight costs, manufacturing, packaging, storage and outbound shipments
  • Manage relationships with trucking companies for bulk and dry freight
  • Anticipate issues and troubleshoot problems as they arise at various points within production and delivery system
  • Other production/logistics and administrative duties as needed

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will be self-motivated, require limited direction and take ownership of their work.  Candidates must be solid team players, capable of being successful in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.  Experience with the Office suite of software required, experience with Quickbooks and salesforce.com desired.

Account Representative/Field Engineer

General Responsibilities:

EOSi  seeks an Account Representative/Field Engineer (AR/FE) to join our team in the Mid-Atlantic Territory and will report directly to the Territory Manager (TM).  The AR/FE will be responsible for retaining the existing customer base and helping the TM acquire new business. Target markets for EOSi’s wastewater solutions include the municipal and certain industrial markets including;  energy, protein, mining and refineries. Other emerging markets the AR/FE may be asked to support are;  drinking water and groundwater remediation. The target applications in these markets include ; denitrification, BOD supplementation, selenium and perchlorate removal.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Manage existing business in Territory
    • Actively manage existing customers and prospects within the Territory by developing relationships and leveraging these to acquire new customers.
    • Work cooperatively with the Technical Services and Territory Managers to manage existing Key Accounts and ensure the value added service offering is being delivered to the client.
    • Primary customer interface responsible for solving problems associated with the use of the Company’s products.
    • Use of Salesforce.com, as a CRM tool; enter updates accordingly.
    • Establish relationships with key water and wastewater regulatory organizations within the Territory.  Develop an understanding of the nutrient removal regulatory landscape for markets within the Territory.
    • Use Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook to report activities, managing Territory business development activities and financial performance of Territory. 
  • Assist in New Business Growth  
    • Identify new opportunities within the Territory to sell value-added, solutions based programs.
    • Qualify the opportunities by monitoring activity in target markets including; key process data of existing plants, new plant build-out schedule, plant upgrade configurations, as well as all stakeholders associated with the opportunity.
    • Coordinate the planning, set-up and execution of pilot trials in Territory.
    • Attend, as required, industry conferences and trade shows to promote the company’s products and services.
  • Drive EOSi organization to expand its capabilities
    • Provide feedback for marketing collateral (e.g. case studies, technical notes) as appropriate.
    • Assist marketing in the coordination of any tradeshows within the Territory.
    • Monitor and report competitive information; examples include competitive product updates, pricing, and customer wins.
    • Support efforts of the Technical Group in Territory with new applications of the company’s product line

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a B.S. degree in an engineering, biology or related technical field and have some familiarity with biological wastewater treatment processes, more specifically, biological nutrient removal. Candidate must also have the ability to constructively coordinate the interaction of other team members to successfully retain customers and help TM acquire new business. Strong communication, including presentation skills, is a must. Candidate must be able to accommodate approximately 25% overnight travel. This position could lead into a sales role within the organization and although not required, some sales experience is helpful. Preference will be given to those candidates with strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office and Salesforce.com.

Technical Services Manager - Industrial

General Responsibilities:

The Technical Services Manager will report to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing with dotted line reporting responsibility to the Chief Technology Officer and will be responsible for supporting the sales organization retain customers and assist in the acquisition of new customers.   Customers will be those wastewater operations in target industrial sectors using biological nutrient removal treatment and carbon sources for BOD supplementation.  The TSM will work closely with the Territory Managers to manage pilot trials, develop service programs and coordinate ongoing program performance monitoring and optimizations for key accounts. Consulting and/or process engineering experience in the following areas is preferred:

    • Protein process wastewater treatment:  poultry, pork and beef
    • Treatment of landfill leachate
    • Petroleum/refinery wastewater treatment
    • Treatment of wastewaters discharged from power plants, especially those discharged from flue gas desulfurization operations at coal-fired power plants
    • Treatment of mining wastewaters including biological reduction of oxidized metals such as selenate and arsenate

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Retention of Key Accounts
    • Work closely with Territory Managers to develop value-added service programs at key accounts
    • Coordinate the review of treatment programs at key accounts with customer
    • Manage and standardize program optimization efforts at key accounts including; application points, expected results, potential process modifications, measurement and monitoring recommendations, etc.
    • Establish cooperative working relationships with key accounts
  • Business Growth
    • Support the sales team to communicate the EOSi value proposition to key stakeholders in each target market including; end users, regulatory agencies, engineering firms and technology suppliers
    • Industry networking will be required which includes industrial conference attendance and travel to engineering offices, regulatory agencies and technology providers to coordinate “brown bag” lunch presentations
    • Identify  up-sell opportunities at key accounts 
    • Make individual or joint sales calls with Territory Sales Manager as may be required
  • EOSi advocacy/external communication –
    • Based on the needs of industrial clients or other stakeholders (engineering firms, technology suppliers, regulators, etc.) develop and communicate materials that document the company’s value proposition in alignment with sales strategy.  These materials may include (but are not limited to) the following:
      • Case studies
      • Pilot scale projects
      • Technical presentations at regional, national and international conferences
      • Technical papers published in industry publications
      • Results of sponsored research
      • Total denitrification program management including; dosage optimization, chemical inventory management, technical review and reporting.

 

Company funding will be available to complete these items and it is expected that many of these materials will be developed in collaboration with clients, engineering firms, technology suppliers, industry associations, academic institutions and other third parties. 

    • Work with technology suppliers (Envirogen, Siemens, etc.) to include EOS products in their product design requirements/specifications.
  • Internal support/product and services development
    • Support the broader EOSi team, including providing tools, training and support for current and future EOSi distributors and employees
    • Provide market intelligence to CTO and Director of Technical Development (DTD) on market trends/needs
    • Support CTO and DTD on field product development trials as may be necessary

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will have a B.S. in engineering, science, the environmental field or a related discipline; a degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering preferred.  Individual should have ten or more years of industrial wastewater treatment experience with preference given to individuals with a diverse background and experience in various industrial markets. Must be familiar with common nutrient removal practices, technologies and methodologies.  Biowin and/or GPSx experience desired.  Must have a strong technical background, excellent writing skills and be an effective public speaker.  Must be able to work on a team and manage multiple tasks.  May be asked to perform market research and other activities, as needed, to support new product development, and to perform production and logistics activities, as needed, in support of expansion of new and existing products.

Business Analyst

General Responsibilities:

The Business Analyst will be responsible for supporting the sales, marketing, and business development activities of the company. The exact responsibilities of the Business Analyst will likely change with the needs of the company, but the general responsibilities will focus on:

    • Key Market Analysis – perform deep dives into key target markets to further develop a macro and micro level market understanding. This will include identifying current and proposed regulations as well as all market stakeholders.
    • International Market Analysis – survey international markets to identify placement opportunities for EOSi products and services
    • Nitrogen Regulation Research – perform domestic and international research on nitrogen regulations to determine target geographies. Develop actionable leads to allow sales team to make initial contact
    • Publication Research – read through industry publications to identify actionable information for the sales team
    • Corporate Analysis – Identify and develop accurate corporate profiles for select firms that are of interest to EOSi. Examples of types of firms will be: potential competitors, raw material suppliers, technology vendors etc.
    • Marketing Support –develop PowerPoint presentations to support the sales team, data entry of contacts and email addresses to company database to facilitate effective marketing campaigns.
    • Lead Qualification – assist in executing cold calls to qualify leads for salespeople

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must be an expert in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Must be a strong team player with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment.  Candidate must be an excellent oral and written communicator. Must be able to synthesize large quantities of scattered information from multiple sources and clearly and precisely present to the sales team or upper management. Candidate must possess a BS/BA from an accredited University. CRM database experience (Salesforce, Oracle etc.) desired.
